AC All-Crop 66 combine

I rent a farm that has an AC 66 combine in the barn. I would like to get it out of the barn and the owner asked me today if there was any demand for it. I remember when her father used it on fescue seed and has been stored inside ever since. It appears to be in good condition. She thinks she has a new canvass for it at her home. Can someone tell me if there is any value and what it might be? TIA, Tim

Rough but operating, around $300. Well-kept, good canvas...at least $500. They are excellent small combines...rubber on rubber shelling means gentle handling of the seed. Actually ahead of their time...they also had cyl speed change by means of a crank moving a variable speed sheave. With other brands you changed sprockets for a fixed speed, even many years later.

Check the trap doors at the bottom of the elevators..if mice have been in ther, their urine will rot the doors and can seize the flight chains..

Should be checked before any start-up..

We had one when I was a kid with the dual-wheel package for soft ground with tractor pto power. Pluses were very good seed separation and dependable operation without any waste chaff. However, it could not handle heavy crops with any speed. I good milo my dad had to sometimes go to single roll operation or the clean elevator would plug up. The collection bin was also small so most farmers added additional siding on the grain bin to decrease the number of stops to unload. Check the canvas feeder, straw walkers, elevators traps, etc for rust or corrosion. If I was still grain farming I would love to have one to combine behind my John Deere 60 and/or JD 630 and bring back a lot of good memories. On a windy day in heavy stands of milo or wheat the chaff could be a bugger when the wind was behind you. Some people added a canvas shroud on the discharge hood to help control the chaff. Would be a great addition to any antique harvesting display.
