New paint for S68 Baler

Finished with the old rusted baler. Still worked good but looked rough so I thought I"d paint it. Lots of work and the decals were not cheap(had them made)but it turned out decent so I thought I would share.

I wish decals were available. I'm sure I couldn't justify custom ones. Looks good! My old 68 is still going strong.

looks great!

Mind if I ask for a ballpark price on the decals?

My 4H kids are restoring a super66 - and we're going to need to do the same thing.

Just wondering what it's going to cost me. (and cringing at the thought of it)

I've always said that you can charge 10% more for whatever you make or do if your equipment looks nice. LOL.

Decals were made at http://www.inspirationsvinyl.com/; nice folks and he saved patterns on his computer to make it easy to run a duplicate set. I just had name and logos done and small warning stickers and such I just mask around. I will pick up some generic warning decals for PTO shafts. Used rustoleom rusty metal primer (good stuff) and New Holland red ($28) from Rural King with hardener. I've probably got $150 in entire job. I've just got 3 acres of hay to fiddle with so I will never wear it out if I take care of it. Lots of elbow grease in prep work with over 50 years of dirt and grime. I stayed away from knotters with paint by the way.

Decals were $85.00; sounds high but I think there was quite a bit of time spent getting them correct. Even if you found NOS (new old stock) it would set you back almost that much or more. The letters even have the small black shadow around them like original.

Hello!
I found this post on the WWW and so far, it is the only thing I can find to help me find the decals I am looking for. I am trying to restore my New Holland Super 69 baler. It is very similar to the 68 pictured in this post. I am looking for the decals and having a very hard time. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
I found another post that pointed to Inspirations Vinyl but they appear to be out of business. The web site goes nowhere and someone else answers the phone.
Thank you for the help!!
Tom

Every sign shop in the country has a machine for cutting graphics out of vinyl sign material. some have larger machines than others.

Yes, however it is the font they are in need of. Especially tricky is the "S" in Super Hayliner. I am toying with the idea of tracing it on a sheet of paper and then taking it to them.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Neal,
I found a guy in Switzerland that will do a complete set (every decal on and IN the baler) but it was rather spendy at $350 plus shipping. So...I have been working with a couple different local (to me) graphics places and between the two of them, I am pretty close to nailing down the main external decals. I will pick up the second prototype tomorrow so we will see how they did this time. Provided they look good, I could easily have them print another set and send to you. You can call or text me at 651-245-0068.
Regards,
Tom
