Painting a JD square Baler. Got any advice?

I need some advice on painting and doing a real good job. I have done spray can paint jobs, but I really want to go a nice shiny paint job that will stay good looking for a good while. Would appreciate any advice on prepping and what all kind of equipment to use. Thanks

I'll let the pro's chime in on the technical aspect but will tell you to keep anybody away from the project that has the attitude of "good enough."
