John Deere 750 belly mower

I inherited an old JD 750 not too long ago, and recently became aware that it would support a belly finish mower. This, more than anything else, would make it a really useful piece of equipment. It is by far the best starting and one of the best running pieces of equipment I own; I've never owned a diesel that starts like this old Japanese yanmar. 30 years old, and doesn't burn a drop of oil. Wonderful machine.
Point here is, I'm wondering what models would bolt up. I don't have a belly PTO either, so its got to be rear PTO driven, or hydraulic, if that is even an option. My local JD dealer knew amazingly little. Anyway, if I know what will bolt up then I know what I'm looking for and can get on this before the craftsman kicks the big one.
Thanks.

Find a Woods dealer. They had a belly mower that will bolt right up to most tractors and is driven off the rear pto. I don't
know if they still make them, but a dealer should be able to help you find one. As far as a mounted mower, a 3 pt rear
finishing mower will do the same job....

Boss had an 850 with a JD 6 foot belly mower to mow about 3 acres at work. He also had a 750 at home which his son borrowed and wouldn't bring back so he bought another one. Never heard anything bad about the 750s. The 850 for some reason would suck a lot of trash like dandelion fuss in the radiator and overheat unless it got blown out during and after each use. Belly mower on 850 had a big gear box on the pto. Now they have a Kubota with a Woods finish mower on the 3 Pt. which does as nice or better job than the JD belly mower.

3pt isnt an option, too many trees and old school irrigation on iron risers. Really all I need are models of belly mower that will bolt up without serious modification. I' ll check out woods though, see what they know. But it seems more and more like if a dealer cant sell you a 10000 dollar shiny piece of plastic/aluminum then they dont know crap and dont really seem all that interested in helping.

I have seen the mowers. There is a box that bolts over the rear PTO and extend up under the tractor. I suppose it houses pulleys and a belt drive system. Tractordata dot com says it takes a model 160 mower deck.
I have an 850 and it has been a great tractor.
