Road transport and a cultipaker

I got a McCormick Deering cultipaker from a farm up the road about 3 miles. Can I just tow that w my truck or will I damange the road or implimemt?

Better trailer it. May damage road surface, and possibly cultipacker. They are cast of rather fragile metal.

The few times I have taken mine over to my other place, about one mile,

I tried lifting it with boom pole close in, with my TO35, but it is too heavy

So I just took my time and pulled it down the road edge which most of the time is soft gravel dirt, those few times it was on hard surface I When
very slow
I do not remember any road surface damage, did make a lot of noise,
Old roller made it fine, but if you can pick it up, you and roller will be much happier,
Also I live in the booins so very little road traffic

No lift on this one, it's old (McCormick Deering so I'm guessing 1940s). I think I'm gonna use a trailer just because they did just repave the road, and even though I don't think it would do damage (what are they 1000#) spaced over 20 some wheels isn't much weight per wheel, I'd rather not give a bad perception to someone driving by who would want to raise a stink. Also there is no bearing material left on this one and one of the castings already has a chunk missing, I don't want to do any more damage. I think in good condition on a road no one cared about it'd be okay even on the emotional level.

Most of them had "bearings" that were just a hardwood blocked bored for the axle. I'ne made lots of them for friends and even add grease zerks. Use old oak from pallets.

When I had a 10 footer behind the Moline drill, I used the 3020 tractor with the loader (less bucket) while seeding grain. I just unhooked the packer, hung it from the loader frame, and went down the road.

Unless your road surface is perfectly flat, weight will be on only a few of the rollers, not evenly distributed over
entire set.

definitely tow it, you can break the cast wheels or spokes easy running on a hard road at speed and that will be a problem you don't want.
