NH Baler Question

Basically the same with the same feeder shuttle. The chain type feeder[276 67 68] didn't come along til the 311's. Some issues with twine finger misses in dry course grass hays. Last of the 273's as well. Some brainyact decided to cut 50 cents worth of metal off the plunger face with the resulting tying problem. The fix was to send out plunger face extensions for these balers. Problem once a new baler has tying problems at the start, in some customers minds it never works correctly ever. Start of the decline of one of the greatest farm equipment makers. Don't get me started on 770 N2 R2 corn heads.......Ron

Rod the 310 is the same shuttle type feed carrier as the 273 but the 273 has a six bar pickup.273 balers were made in both standard width pickup teeth or super sweep models,310 versions are seldom made with standard width pickup. That being said I have had both models the 310 was one of New Hollands worst balers. The 273 is the better of the two because the six bar pickup does not slug feed baler like 310 models. My current baler I have had for years is a 276 after owning a 273 and 310 has chain type feeder and is a larger capacity machine.Having grown up up with super 67 model that my dad bought new, alot of small bales were made around here at one time.Whew that is alot to chew on Rod hope this info helps.Scott
