IH 37 vs 370 disc

anybody know how to tell the difference? I have had one of these for years, never have known what it is for sure. 13 ft. 16 in discs

I never could figure out the difference as I have a I-H 8ft. disk. I decided after looking at pictures of them on Tractor House and other ads I would call mine a 37. I have pretty much rebuilt the whole disk over the years and always called it a 37 when getting parts and they have always fit.

they must be very similar. best I have on this is a 370 had an id decal across the rear bar in the center, which I can still barely make out. did a 37 also have this decal? must be more differences than just that I would think. Looks like either could have the open bars or solid weights pans.

I have both a 37 10 ft. and a 370 14 ft. disk. The biggest difference is that my 37 has the pipe bearings and the 370 has the sealed bearings. But I believe the later model 37 disks also had sealed bearings. The only other difference I can see is that my 370 has a slightly heavier built frame than the 37. But this might be because the 370 is a larger disk. Both use the exact same disk blades, front hitch, and wheels. And yes, my 370 does have a "370 International" decal across the back. Not sure what the 37 had for a decal as mine is gone. Al

The way I tell is, the rectangle box tubing that holds the gang on a 37 is actually 2 pieces of angle iron welded together while on a 370 the tube is a factory cut rectangle beam.

I took a look at the rectangle beams on my 37 and 370 disks this morning. Both have the exact same welded beams from two pieces of angle iron. So maybe IH used the factory cut rectangle beams on later model 370 disks as mine are the same as the 37. Not sure that I can see any differences between the two disks other than the decal on my 370.
