New Holland 850

I bought a New Holland 850 knowing it needs work on the floor chains. I want to put it in the shop but not leave a tractor hooked to it. If I open the back and use the cylinder blocks will there be enough weight transfer so it will want to tip backwards?

I cannot say for sure but I think you will be alright. If you look at the hitch when the tail gate is open it does not pull up on the hitch does it?? Just be sure you have the cylinder locks in place because that tail gate can come down pretty fast if a hose breaks or other such odd thing happens

I wouldn't risk it as it doesn't take much for them to tip backwards.I know going up a hill baling with my 851 it'll come up against the bottom of the tractor draw bar.

If you have some tractor weights around you could chain them to the tongue, that would help ensure the balance.
