Allis no7 sickle mower oil seals

Anyone have experience in removing the flywheel drive gear in order to replace the oil seal in gearbox? Tried small gear puller and an oxy acetylene torch but didn't budge. Suspect next step is larger gear puller - anyone else get this off?

(quoted from post at 18:07:17 07/06/17) How bad is it? I always just filled them with Corn Head grease when the oil seals went bad and never had a problem.

Eventually leaves a large oil patch on machine shed floor. Bearings seem ok but was planning on rebuilding everything if I get it apart. Started out fixing main pulley bearing - then sucked into con rod bearings and figured I would do everything. Allis repair shop mentioned some people try grease when I asked about parts though.

Did you ever find a technique to remove that large pulley and repair your leak? I have the same problem with my rear mount #7 sickle mower and think it is time to replace that seal as it leaves too much gear box oil
on the ground.

Just a lot of heat and a big gear puller. The square key wouldn't come out - pulled the pulley off with it still in. Had to use a small nut to get past the end of the key to get the center of the gear puller on the shaft on but it moved fairly easily after 5 min heating. Key took a punch to knock it out sideways.
