Removing disc mower pods

Guys from the electric co-op left some wire in field and of course New Idea disc mower hit it and wrapped around 2 pods. there is an inch and an eighth nut presumably holding the pod or turtle on. I would think if I took this nut off the turtle would come off and I could get the wire removed. I leaned on the nut with a breaker bar and could not budge it. Would these be loctite'ed on and I need to apply heat or am going about it wrong? also are they standard right hand threads?

Don't know about the New Idea but some disc mowers have a slotted nut for a cotter pin to hold on the hat on. Those nuts usually have a recommended torque to set the nut. If the nut have never been off probably just rusted & dirty threads causing the problem, but a lot of those are loctite'ed from the factory.
