twisting baler belts

what is the best way to twist belts on the front of a vermeer 505 super I? mine are all straight now but im told you can twist them to see inside the chamber to see bale for better and to keep hay from building up on the edge of the baler which is what im wanting to elimate. i have seen the outside and i have seen all the belts twisted on other balers just not sure how is the best way to put the twist in it. thanks for the help.

Ditto what SVcummins stated. Although I think twisting belts will help with hay buildup in belts it appears the twisting would put excessive strain on the lacings

(quoted from post at 08:42:44 06/25/17) also it says it extends belt life.

I'd like to read the engineer explanation of how it extends the life of the belts or lacing's. Do any new rd balers come from the factory today with the belts twisted?????

it says it spreads the wear of the belt to both faces of the belt, i havent looked at any new balers but i know i have seen them newer than the i series with twisted belts.

yes like said you have to pull the splice pin and put the twist in ,, mine had them that way new (505 SI ) but the original owner took them out before he ever used it I see no reason to have them twisted myself, oh yopu will havce to release the belt tension to pull the pins

If baling drier than desired hay one can lower pto rpm's to about 450 rpm's to help alleviate hay buildup in between belts in frt of baler. This has helped on the balers I've operated.
