pto hydraulic pump/ implement use

im thinking about putting a pto hydraulic pump on a massey 275 to operate a loader. i have heard you can put a shaft extension on the tractor and slide pump on and still use the pto for implements, does anyone have any experience with this? i would make some brackets and mount the pump as solid as possible to the tractor housing. disc mower is all the pto work i would be using the tractor for.im looking at a 12gpm pump with 2300psi is that about the size i need?

Hello steven yes that is what I have dont know thegpm was a while ago but my pump slides onto the pto to run the loader just have to take it off to use other implements

yes but i have been told you can leave the pump on and still use pto powered implements with the use of a pto extension, dont want to see if anyone has had any luck with it before i buy the stuff to do it.

Never heard of that. Those pumps were made for use on the non hydrolic tractors of the 30's & 40's to be able to pull wheel disks with them And on some tractors the way they sat it would have been very hard to reach the control lever. Did not realize any had even been made for the last 50 years and on that tractor would put the controls way behind your back and hard to reach to make you wish you never had that tractor if using a loader.

yes you have to buy the pump with the through shaft then install the extension adapter, But you are making the pto Longer then and you can have issues with the pto shaft bottoming out, I have seen units torn up bad when they drove through a dip
