A friend of ours gave this old wagon to us several years ago, but I have no idea the history of it or what kind it is. Can any of you identify it? I'm wanting to fix it up to pull in parades behind our JD unstyled A

Looking at the main frame, spindles, and hubs, my first thought is Minnesota, looks like there may be a name tag covered in green paint in the lower right front portion of the front frame (when looking at the picture from this angle) under the stringer bracket. Not sure about the extra bracket on the rear framing though...
Try cleaning is off, but go easy- may not be very deep letters. Some are just stickers too.

I would say it is a Minnesota gear as well. I have attached pictures of a 6-ton MN gear. I am thinking some of the extra iron work is part of a hoist or lift system for whatever box or flatbed was on the gear. If you have further questions about MN gears, let me know.

Look close and you can se that is a break that tightens up against the tread of a rubber tire forhelping stop that wagon when it is pulled by the single horse that the shafts on the toung are for. And with that it is hardly to be heavier than a 3 ton gear for a single horse to have been pulling it. Ans as for make I do not know but if it is a Minnesota then you must either be in that state or very close by. The Minnesota goverment probly did not sell out of state so unless it is very close probly not that make.

It is obvious that it was set up to be pulled by a single horse. The lever on RH side with linkage going to the rear is a braking system.
