Needing part for 1924 IHC grain drill

This part goes underneath each drop area, below the box.
It is metal
It is around 5-6in long. It is built differently starting from the middle outward
One end is around 1in wide and has a slight curve It has a pin that runs through it crossways at the upper middle between the 2 shapes.
The upper shape is around 3/8ths wide and 1/4in thick. It has one hole at the top end of it. To its side is a tin piece fastened at the middle of the whole piece, or said another way, fastened at the bottom of this piece with the hole. If the metal piece is still intact, there is a bulge sticking out at the upper end.
This piece helps regulate the flow of seed. It moves by the pin mentioned and pivots in its middle. The user lines the upper piece to one of 3 or 4 holes onto the piece it is pinned to which is the piece that is screwed to the bottom of the box. When lined up correctly the bulge on the tin piece goes through the hole on the arm its attached to and into one of the slots on the piece the whole piece im needing is attached to. Sure hope to hear that someones got this piece. Thanks for any help beforehand

I can't quite picture that from my experience with a McCormick M drill.

Is it a McCormick I would assume, wooden from that age? Have not seen many in tact wooden drills around here, parts would be a toughie.

It mounts in front of the drill, onto the piece that holds the flutes.
Its a McCormick Deering 1924.
yup, I know that its a hard piece to find. kinda funny that way. Every drill had from 8 to say 18 each on them

do you have a pic of one and or where they go? if they are in the seed tube tops i wont have them but if its not I may well,, I will try to look at my parts drills and see

Sorry, Currently I don't have a pic or a way to send one. The part is attached to the same piece as the seed flutes attach

Did those drills come with the two different types of seed meter, and will this part only work with one or the other? Or is it universal to any McCormick drill of that age?

Paul

paul, Judging from your questions, Id say I know as much about it as you do. lol IF I had to guess, I would say that whichever seed meter was used wouldn't effect the usage of this piece. The seed meter, mounted on the back board of the box only effected the gear like round pieces each mounted on a 1/4in sq shaft and there was one in each seed cup and they slid sideways. The piece im needing was mounted on the outside of the seed cup and had no contact with the seed meter in any way.

My drill is laying on its back so not the best pic, I am thinking this one is different than yours as this one does not adjust by sliding and I see nothing at least from this angle that might help, sorry
