bale loader

I have a older bale loader that I purchased and it came without the parts to attach it to my trailer. I do not know the brand or the model because there is not an ID plate on it anymore. I have taken some pics of it to help identify the brand. Also a couple pics show that there are two spots that look like original hook up areas, even though there is angle iron welded to one and a piece of tubing on the other. Those were put there by us trying to build our own attachment but were not at all successful. So looking for someone who might know something about this bale loader. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Larry

PS.
Hope this posting is not a duplicate because I could not find it after I thought it was posted the first time.

Welcome to YT
That hay loader resembles a Graves that was built back in 50's-60's in Oklahoma.

Thank you for the information. It certainly does looks similar and probably is a Graves. I am hesitant to order a manual to find out that it is not going to be helpful. I have searched the internet trying to find a possible parts list or better pictures of mine with no success. Do you have any ideas about finding more specific information about the Graves bale loaders particularly for the parts to attach the loader to a trailer?

Thanks
Larry

I have a low profile dual axle trailer. Wheels are on the outside of bed but do not think that should be a problem. Just have no idea what the original parts looked like for attachment to towing vehicle. If I could see a picture of them I could fabricate them. Thanks

I have one, not a graves. The hitch pole is on the side near the rear on a pin and extends to the front where it is pined to a hole at the front of the truck or trailer bed. It can go up or down via a slot in the loader frame.

Thank you for that text information. Could you possibly send a picture of your explanation. Thanks

Larry

Sorry I can"t do pics. The slot is formed by a vertical angle welded to a couple spacers on the loader frame near the front. There are 2 2x8 plates with hitch holes welded to the pole so it can be pinned to a hole under the edge of the truck or trailer.

I doubt if original hitch parts would fit a tandem axle utility without some modification. IMHO you're trying to make this too difficult just attach loader to side of trailer with older Ford tractor Cat l sway bar pins(2 ea) & a strap similar to sway bar or even a short piece of log chain.

In photo below outlined in blue is the truck/trailer hitch for a JD popup hay loader

Could you further explain or send a pic of what you are calling Ford tractor Cat 1 sway bar pins. Thanks.

3 pt sway bar pin is key 7. One would need to place pin on trailer & have attaching link(sway bar or scrap bar) correct length so bale loader will be in desired location next to LH side of trailer.

Is this the only attachment needed. I assume this attachment is near the front of bale loader. Do we not need another anchor point at the rear of the loader? It seems as though when making a turn, if we are not anchored in two places, it is either going to swing and bump into trailer or try to pull away at the front depending on which way the tun is made.

Thanks

Thank you for all the information. We will begin to work on the attachment. If something comes up we will be in touch again. Thanks again for your help.

Do you have any way that you could find or take pictures of an actual trailer hooked to a bale loader. I again thank you for pics of different possibilities but I need to see a loader hooked to a trailer. Also do you have any suggestions of who or where I might find pics like this.

Thanks
Larry

Excuse me, but I just happen to stumble across this question regarding the attachment links for that bale loader. Did you ever figure it out? I know it’s been a while since you were having trouble attaching one to your trailer.

Save all the nonsense and just load behind the baler and they are already up to lifted level of the deck. Then just stack them on the deck as you go. No fooling around with loaders.
