Woods RM 306

Hey y'all

Was mowing the other day with a Woods RM 306. Belt broke... It was on borrowed time. Anyhow... Did some checking around and I guess there was a-1, and a -2 and a -3 and they all take a different size belt.

Model on the makers plate says RM 306-D??? The old belt is over 200"

Anyone out there know what the correct length and width belt for it is and a good place to get one ?

Thanks

I have an older RM 306. It had been sitting outside for a few years before I bought it. The belt broke after a short time. I also found out there were different belts, apparently they updated them over the years like everything else. I took the old belt to the dealer with me and they found the number on the belt and matched it up right away. Go to a place that handles Woods products, they should be able to get the right one for you.

agh if it was only that easy!!

My belt is so badly worn there are no information visible on it.

I did go to my local woods dealer here in Franklin CT, they said that the model I have they do not have any information on. We measured the old belt at something like 211 inches. And the closest belt he had was like 230 inches but was only 5/8 inch this one is 7/8 inch.

He was convinced that when the belt broke that there is a piece missing but I checked where the break is and there is a jagged edge and it matches perfectly with the other side. So I don't think I'm missing a piece.

Mine is a RM306-1, can't remember the belt size, my parts list shows part# X188(special). It is quite wide. I would try a different Woods dealer. Just because someone is behind a parts counter doesn't mean they know everything.
