Allis Chalmers plow

I have what I believe to be a WD-53 3-bottom Snap-Coupler plow. First of all, I'm not 100% sure that's what it is, so were there any other 3 bottom Snap Coupler plows. It is a 3-12. Also, once I find out what it is, is there a way to find plowshares or any of the wear parts on it. I apologize that I don't know the names for any of the plow hardware, I'm sure I'll know by the time I'm done with it. Thanks, Chris.

The early plows for the WD had curved standards...the vertical forgings that the moldboard, etc., mounted to. They had a cast pocket that slipped over the lift arm, anchored with a bolt. The drawbar was pinned to the tractor, where later, the Snap Coupler was mounted. The next series had vertical steel standards, at a right angle to the frame. That was current with, for example, the 1956 WD45. The third series had steel standards mounted at a forward angle. Typically used on the D series tractors. Early plows could be converted to the Snap Coupler drawbar, and spring-loaded lift latches that attached to the lift arms.

Ok, thank you for your help, the plow is probably the next up on the list after my two McCormick mowers (one's technically my uncles) and then I plan on working on the plow. Just wanted to figure some of it out, thanks again. Chris.

I don't think they made 3 bottom 12 inch 53 plow. Available with 14 or 16 inch bottoms. WD was an early designation for the 50 series plow. could be a model 43 or 44 with one bottom removed. The 40 series were available with 12 or 14 inch bottoms. Formerly known as CA models.
