JD 7000 planter question

I have a 4 row 7000 planter and noticed while planting corn the other day that one unit puts out more seed than the others. What would cause it to do that? It is an outside row unit but I don't think that should make any difference. I cleaned my meters earlier this spring and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary with any of them, just put new precision meters on it and they don't have over a hundred acres on them. It's not a big difference but it is noticeable when looking into the seed boxes. I don't know what to do about it, maybe have my meters checked and ran on a test stand? Any ideas?

Not familiar with precision meters, but I'd at least pull it a little ways in the driveway then count seeds/measure seed spacing so you know just what the difference is that you're looking for.

Commonly worn brushes cause a few doubles and over planting. With the new meters that should not be a issue. Take them to a dealer that can run them, the problem is most likely a simple adjustment. I have run the precision units for ten years and they are spot on with simple care.

Call the person/company you bought the meters from. If it was a wholesaler, call Precision Planting 309-925-5029 or 309-925-5050. If line is busy, stay with it until you can talk with a person and tell them you need to talk to someone who works in their shop who has meter knowledge.

Have them tell you the closest person to you with a Meter Max machine. I have such a machine, and it is not unusual to have 1 or 2 meters act up even when new. Meters purchased from farm supply places have no instructions with them to help you.

If you are in Wisconsin, I could help you in a couple hours. My bet is one of your adjustable brushes is not set right.
