Stuck on gearbox removal on NH469 Haybine

My gearbox is leaking quite a bit. I'm trying to get it off of the machine so I can replace the seals.

I'm stuck on the inner shaft bearing (the one on the part of the shaft that sticks out near the rollers). I've removed the square retaining plate (what I believe the attached manual page calls the "locking collar" although the arrow points to the inner collar, so I'm not sure).

I thought the bearing and mounting plate (the circular plate around the bearing) would then just slip off. They did not. I put a steering-wheel puller on it (it fit well), and that did nothing.

Am I missing something obvious? How can I get this bearing off? It, apparently needs to come off in order to remove the gearbox, and the gearbox appears to need to come off to get to the seals.

Thanks.
Brett

Shirley some one didn't put collar on inside? Kinda looks that. The collar is about 2in across has set screw and a hole to lock/unlock. I usually had to bust it. Grass juice rusts it on shaft.

There was/is no collar on it at all. I split the flanges apart. Now the only thing holding on is the bearing. It, however, is holding tightly.

Probably rusted in place. Try some heat and a puller on the bearing itself. You'll just mess the mounting flanges up if you try and pull it with them.

Some times in life you just have to wreck a good bearing cause the end result you should put a new one back in, so make it go to
heck! LOL

A puller on the bearing, and a couple minutes with a propane torch broke it free. After that, it was still gripping the shaft, but the puller alone was enough to finish removing it.

Thanks.
