I have NEVER had success bending the guards on my trusty MF32 sickle mower or my advanced in sickle technology (of the day) Hesston 1110 mower conditioner - even when using the BFH.
So I'm considering one of these tools one uses like a lever to grab the tip of the guard and give it a pry/bend.
Anyone used one of these things with any success?
Question is - are you really bending the guard or the apron it is bolted to?
I say bending the apron because I should think, especially on older sickle mower conditioners, the ground hog holes, roots, etc., that a guard impacts may have enough force to slightly bend the area where the guard bolts to and make shimming the guard impractical.
Guard straightener, anyone one used one with success?
Thanks!
Bill
