White 6100 planter with a 6900 splitter

My boss hasn't used his eight row planter in about six years and I am getting it ready to use and plant milo with it this year. I have some closing wheels to tighten up, I have the manual and can figure out most of it. The past six years he has had the beans and milo custom planted by others; it's about 800 acres total, plus 215 acres of wheat that we drill in ourselves. My main question is about adding a White 6900 splitter to the system if we can find one locally, or with in the next state. I've found a couple on Tractorhouse.com.
So, does the splitter also have wings that fold, or are they mainly solid bars? The operators manual doesn't show much on the splitter other than hooking it to the main system. My main concern would be getting it from one field to another without hogging the whole road. We pull with White 2-155 and 2-155 FWA. I'm mainly trying to figure out how to rig it for planting soybean for next year. This year we will be using the JD 1590 drill to put the bean in... We want to double crop bean after the wheat, so we'll need both the drill and planter in operation at the same time. Thanks for any info. Russ, in Kansas...
