Help ID Planter?

I have found a planter on the local c-list I'd like to buy, but I'm not sure what it is and want to check availability of plates, etc. Seller says it's a JD. Price is right, just want to know exactly what it is.

They look to be # 81 units [plate type units] with optional fiberglass hoppers, check out Parts catalog, 1302 on JD parts . com...

I wonder if that is home made? Maybe a cut down from a larger planter? I say that because the tool bar is really beefy for a two row, three point planter. I would search for part numbers on the row unit and cross reference to other parts. It would help if you could haul it up to a dealership with some older parts/service guys behind the counter. Around here we only have one JD dealer that handles Ag stuff and the service guy is not friendly to those of us with older equipment.
