It followed my Brother home to my place (pics)

I had my brother look at a manure spreader that I found on a trash & treasure page, and while he did that and talking to people he knows, he came across this and didn't hesitate to buy it.
The one I was looking at was 250.00 with bad tires and not sure of the floors and walls. He dropped this off instead because of his contacts having been a repair man for the local implement
dealer. I think I did good for 150.00 Cannot believe I was able to get this for this kind of money. I tried online to find a manual, but no luck so far.

You got one heckuva bargain. I had a 5x12 Kelly Ryan I used heavily for 20 years. There is nothing much to go wrong on one of them. One thing mine was lacking was a slip clutch. If a big wad or chunk of frozen manure went into the beater with a big tractor pulling it a key would shear in the gear box. A small tractor had enough 'give' to cushion the blow.

I have a JD Model N I picked up used and seems to be original, other than a few links of ladder chain I had to replace. I think the tires are original too. Still hold air but look like a roadmap. Works great. Real handy when you need one. I keep it out of the weather and keep the floor oiled with old deep frying oil. I use it for disposing of my leaves in the fall now, putting them on my hay patch and rolling them in.

WOW. What a bargain. Can probably get a manual from Kelly Ryan as they are still in business. E-mail is kryan.com and phone is 800-640-6967. I spent a winter going to farm sales trying to find a spreader like that a few years ago. They were all junk or cost $1000 or more.

That is in incredible nice shape. We had one exactly like it. I knew from the first picture what brand it was. Notice they do not have any adjustment for the apron speed. Someone put a non-factory jack on yours. They had kinda a cockamamie jack from the factory. Pa went down to the factory to get ours and pulled it home to North Mankato Mn. with the 51 Ford ton and a half.

Dang rotated pics. still have not figured out how to get this fixed. Looks like I might have some seals in the gear box to fix
