International 2400 round baler

I've not run a 2400, But I have and have used a couple of 241's, The 2400's immediate ancestor. The biggest problems I've encountered is starting a bale. They prefer pretty good size, EVEN, windrows. My 241's are manual twine, Which is okay if the twine cutter works right. Most parts are available.

It is a soft core baler, newer than the 241 which I had, that likes windrows made from a parallel bar rake better. If using a wheel rake, keep the bunches down, which can happen or it will cause it to stop feeding. You will need to push the last hay in tight to get the bales to stack good because the bale gets denser on the outside. Used to pick up two 12 foot swaths with mine that a 706 that could barely straddle.
You can go straight ahead then. Mine was a manual tie which every thing needs to work very good or you will be frustrated. It did not like corn stalks. Hay had to be fairly dry but it would cure less than dry hay. No silage bales with it. Make sure the door gets closed when using as it moves on a track as the bale gets larger and the springs will start making more tension also.I pulled it mostly with a 706 but have
used a 450 and a 560 but they were not as nice.
