I'm looking at buying a ferguson disc plow P-AO-20, will an 8n pull this plow OK or how about a ford 641? Dont really need it just adding to my collection of treasures. Also by chance does anyone have an owner/operators manual for one, I tried the "other" site but all they have is an ad brochure and parts book. Thanks

Your 8n should pull it the 641 even better. Considers should be if complete and condition of those disc sitting in the dirt. Others on this board will know the height of the disc that if too short maybe worn out.

Never been around one bit I think that implement was made for the TO 20 tractor that is the same horsepower as the 8N at about 23-25 HP depending on exact model and year of tractor. The next up is the Ferguson TO 30 at if I remember correctly is 29 HP and your 641 is supposed to be 37HP. I think the plow was designed before the TO 35 at about 35 HP came out. And that was the biggest tractor ever built to carry the Ferguson name so unless your ground is where the 8N would need a single bottom you should be good. And in the books that came with the 44 2N they showed a 3 disk for it but cutting width per disk was 8" the same as the 2 disk version. Even at the 3 disk on 8" spacing it was smaller than the 2-14" moldboard at 28" they sold for same tractor.

I do have a parts manual for sale for your ferguson disc plow. my e mail is [email protected]

my friend and I have two of these old Ferguson plows
my experience to the proper operation of a disc plow is the condition of the trailing guide disc,
if it is worn down the plow will no longer tract, it will pull hard to the left,
we replaced the rear guide disc blades on both our plows, used flat bottom plow coulter disc and fitted them to the hubs, however the disc blades might be available some where

they plow good but leave the ground somewhat rougher than a flat bottom plow.
was used for ground with rocks and roots, they will roll over the obstacle and keep on going
the red plow is the later model MF64 with the bent tube frame
old wife's tale was a Ferguson wrench was shipped inside the tube, but I never tried to open the end cap to see.

Thanks for all the replies...I think I'll go check it out tonight and if in decent shape go ahead and get it.

My father was a Ferguson dealer in the '50's and sold several of those to farmers in an area of the state with rocky soil...rocks as big as a cantalope. They work fine but in damp clay soil they make a rough ground that is hard to work down into a decent seed bed. I think they pulled them with fergie 30's.

I have a p-ao-20 that's been sitting in the woods since I was a kid. The rear disc has some light damage; other than that, the plow is in great shape. Complete, nothing missing. What is a fair asking price for one of these? I cant find any on the interwebs to compare.
