Model M drill question

Does anyone know if the grass seeder feed tubes are available any place? Mine has clear tubes taped to the feed cups.

Grass seeder seed tubes are not that important. Without them, the seed scatters very well. They don"t funnel seed down to the openers anyway. Nor would you want them to, cuz the seed shouldn"t be planted as deep as the grain.

Depends on the setup if they are important or not. Seed box low on back no, not important. High on front yes as without then the grass seed will just get cought up in the dirt and the grease and build up and not fall to the ground. Tubes put seed below the grease catcher.

What do they do for the regular seed tubes as well, I don't suppose the spiral metal are made any more?

I take the seed tubes off my drill. I like the seed to be spread out not in rows. My drill has press wheels so it firms the seed in even with it being sown on top of the ground.

JD Seller, I dought if you have a drill olde enough to have the seed box mounted on the front of the large seed box and above the shaft that drives everything and has all the grease zerks up there to catch the seed before it hits the bottom part of the drill. Your drill would have that grass seed box mounted on the back side where there is no frame parts for seed to pile up on. His is the first type and so I think you should be able to figure out the differences, One will work the other not. Also all drills made back in the 40's had seed box on high front over the grease from greasing the shafts would collect and build up gobs of seed covered in grease. His drill was made late 40's to early 50's. Different than the drills of the 70's and up.

My seeder is in front and above all the shafts. All the places listed here have tubes that are too big and won't work on my seeder.

Ive got 2 of those rubber type tubes on my fertilizer spreader mounted on my 2 row corn planter. They have a curve near the bottom to get the fert away from the planted row.
