New Holland 277 baler

I know a 276 is a fairly high capacity baler - what is a 277 New Holland like? A guy west of me has one with the clean sweep pickup for sale for a $1000.

I like my 277 baler. I gave 600 for mine 20 some years ago. Set out with hay or straw in the chamber year around hooked to the tractor I last used on it. When I want to bale some more I grease it and go bale. I grease it when I get done with it in the fall.

according to my New Holland book that is a 14x18 baler made from 1968 to 1972. My book doesn't show a 276 baler. Most New Holland balers work good if adjusted correctly.

The guy I worked for in high school had one - if I remember right, it was a good capacity baler. He used kicker wagons, but for fields far from the barn I'd stack the loads to get them as big as possible - it would keep me pretty busy.

The guy is MOVING with some fairly good sized windrows. I can only dream of going that speed with an old IH 47.
