Looking for a parts rake or individual parts for support my son's desire to fix and use a Case 170 rake on steel.

rear springs for the trailer wheels,
some stripper plates along the rake basket area
rake teeth and mounting clamps.
those are off the top of my head. I will have to see what my son found since our initial list, but I know those are needed.

Yes, 25 miles SE of Watertown.
Sounds like you are going to find the parts you need. The one I know of has a busted gear with none that were to be had or it would have been repaired and off the dealers lot and back in the field. But I am in Ohio and the rake is in Indiana. For the teeth the teeth from a New Idea No.4 rake can be substituded but you need to use the NI clamp as well. Couple of years ago when I rebuilt one I did that But I am sure I could get new teeth for that rake. But at the price of parts we save as much as possible for the old rakes when we have to part one out as a lot of new parts are not avaible. If the person That I work with would want to do you think the parts rake you found might have a good gear in that could be bought. I do try to find rakes for the Amish and I have 3 New Idea setting here now in rebuilding prossess and in last 15 or so years I must have handled close to a hundred rakes, repairing quite a few of them.

Are you looking for a steel wheel rake? I'm not sure of a model # but I have one that is all there and useable. I'm at Audubon IA. seven 1 two five 63 four one one 5
