This past Saturday I and some friends attended the Timmerkamp estate sale 175 miles west near Kechi,Kansas....Mr Timmerkamp had passed away last Dec at age 74....This was a huge sale that started at 9 AM and had lots to go when we left at 4 PM....There were 15 plus plows there and most were in good shape...I hope that the junkers didnt get them..The old McCormick drill was perfect and had Alfalfa seed in the box..Sorry but I dont have very many prices as lots sold after we left....The JD rake brought $170 and the seperator with 100's of bullet holes sold for $250....There was a like new sawmill...There was lots more than what I have pictured...There was lathes, drill presses, and iron galore..Sales like this are non existent in my part of Missouri..Someone said that the family had been on this farm since 1938..Another huge sale will be held in April to sell all of the blacksmith equipment..There had already been a sale to sell a huge gun collection..

Left before the plows sold. Yes, several were in good shape and wish I had been able to stay to see them sell, but, oh well, probably have too many plows already. I did get some new JD coulter blades and land sides off one of the wagons.

Probably some of the old items are going back for work as in first picture I see an Amish man in the background so if one there likely it was in Amish country and they still use the sulky plows and that drill is just what they want. The one hole corn shellers are also desirable for use, the wood not so much for use but for collectors, the 2 Deere steel ones usually sell for around $200 with a lot of asking prices up to $400 that is too much but when you go back past where they were they are gone and seller is still there. In the last 2 years have probably bough a dozen or more of those shellers of different brands for my Amish friends.

Mennonites around here, they drive cars, use rubber tires tractors, electricity, cell phones. Just dress old fashioned. Some of the old ones still have a horse and buggy, but they are getting fewer.

Mennonites around here do not dress like the Amish or old fashioned. You cannot tell any of them from any of the rest of us. Had a ggod friend that was Mennonite and He owned the local lumber yard at one time and was a John Deere collector and organized the area 2 cylinder club. The only thing the religen did was it would not allow the club to have a meeting on a Sunday, all had to be Saturday.

looks like scrap buyers paradise, hope i am wrong but stuff around here like that you got get bid first or just keep combining till due.

Sulky plows will bring a few hundred if at all usuable. That Grain drill I could give up to $400 for the Amish Dealer I work with for him to put out for sale after what he would pay me for getting it to him and then his markup he needs to handle having around for a while and make something for his time.
