I have a disk that came off of an adjoining farm that I was able to purchase a few years ago. I have no idea the brand of the disc. I have used it for 4 years now for small projects. I decided to replace the blades and found three bearings down. The disk is around 10' and had two front gangs and two back gangs. They have block bearings that are held on with u bolts and have roll pins holding then on at the top. You basically drive the six roll pins out of each gang and raise the disk and the gang is off. I need to find some of these pillow blocks for this disk as they were ruined when the bearing went down. I cant tell what color it is so like I said I have no idea the brand. Thought someone might could help me out if I described it. It has 1 1/8 square shaft. It also has an adjustable tongue that levels the disk front to back. Thanks

That is a kewanne disc.they are a bearing eating pig. Those bearings are available from shoupparts but they are 120.00 each. Most of the time bearing holders are shot when the bearing go out.Look for another disc unless you like throwing money away.I have two wing discs with that style holder I could not give away they are such a pain.Scott

Sounds like a Kewanee. While it is a great disc it is probably not worth putting money into. I had a gang seize up in the field. We bought an
old Oliver in decent shape for less than the cost of parts for the Kewanee.

I had a later version (100) series if I remember correctly, just a fair disk but bearings at that time became non existing, supposedly some aftermarket avaible now. Now there was an earlier version that the depth control was built in and had a hand crank on the back that controled depth and also held it in transport position. Those do not as far as I know have sealed bearings in but they might. Those are the model that is worth money as it is an easy pulling model and short coupled to make turning while in the ground easier and that is a big factor when pulling with horses. The 10' size is maximum size wanted with the 8' size more desireable. If my health would have been better I would have been rebuilding several junk ones I know of for resale. It is only the model with the built in depth control that is valuable.
