Ive posted here before in the last week or so as my baler search continues. I sold my old NH 851 this winter with intentions of replacing it with another baler that made a 4' wide bale and that was capable of making silage, with about a $5000 budget. I know that's not much to work with but being a young guy starting out and the market being what it has the last few years that's what I've got to work with. I've seen a few posts from the past of guys saying they've baled silage with their 848's and gotten along well. I only bale about 50-100 wet bales a year. I loved my 851 and these seem to be a big step up. would I get along fine with one? how hard is it to set it to make a 4' bale for wet hay and then make my dry hay in 4'x5' bales? from what videos ive seen they seem to make a nice tight bale but I haven't found any of anyone baling silage. anyone have any words of wisdom?
