NH baler choice

We bought a nice 68 with the farm 45 years ago. Wore that out then went to a 310. Wore that out and got a low usage 273. Time to replace that now. Looking at a couple of one owner machines . A 310 and a 315. Neither has been used for the past 15 years or so. Both sheded, but have sunk in the dirt floors. The 315 is in a drier shed, so not as deep in the dirt. The owner is fairly fussy, so machine is clean and looks good. Haven't got a price from him yet, but judging by the prices on tractor house, I'm guessing 3500 to 4000. The owner of the 310 wife died in 2003 and it looks like he just quit. Baler shows very little wear, but was put away dirty and the years haven't haven't improved it. Damper shed and wheels are nearly to the axel in dirt and lots of surface rust. He wants 1800 for it. I know the 310 is basicly a slightly improved 273, but have never worked with a 315. Neither has a thrower and we bale 7 to 8000 per year and sell most for horse hay. Just looking for anyones thoughts that may have used both. thanks

I looked at balers all kinds and bought a new John Deere 328 last year , does what I need . I went New because the used one's were ether junk or hard to find the part that broke .

Just bought a 315 for 2800 . Quite a step up in capacity from a 273 . 310 is about the same as a 273 I believe.

We bought a brand new NH 315 many years ago, damn good bailer, not much trouble with it. The 315 probably has more capacity than the 310 (in plunger strokes per minute). There was a brand new NH 320 next to the 315 we bought, the 320 had more strokes per minute than the 315, but was out of our price range. When we went to round bales we put the 315 in the barn after cleaning it real good, after sitting a few years in the barn the bottom of the bale chamber where the plunger runs got really rusty, and needed repair. It might have been better off we parked it with hay still in it.

i ran 570 new holland and 327 jd both had their issues. personally would have liked to tried jd 348 to compare against 570 new holland. 570 you have to keep it full of hay and i mean keep it stuffed.
