I'm going to look at a Ford 152 spring reset 5 bottom plow. 5 bottoms is a little more than I have tractor for, but 4 bottoms are real hard to find around here
I seem to remember that some of those plows you could add or subtract a bottom without too much trouble. Does anyone know if that's the case with this one?

Yes, that is one of the ones that can have bottoms added or removed...BUT, the basic model starts as a 5 bottom, going up to as many as 8 bottoms. You're out of luck on that one, to make it a 4-bottom. The 151 was available as a 3 or 4 bottom basic frame, expandable up to 5 bottoms. (that's what I have)
Just out of curiosity, where are you? I've seen a couple of 151's advertised recently, and even a 155 (6 bottom basic frame, expandable to 10) N/W WI, here.
 
Thanks for the info - I'm in Central NY - about 15 miles from Cooperstown. I seem to be able to find the 5 bottoms all day long, but the 4 bottom are hard to come by. I'm pulling it with an Oliver 1755, so 5 bottoms would be a little much in heavy soil

I'll try attaching a link to one of the ads I saw. Been advertised off and on for about a year now. Cheap enough to justify a trip? Or arrange trucking? (take a look at the hauling schedule here on YT... I've gotten several pieces moved that way)
