New Holland 67 worth

I have a NH 67 baler that works really good, but it doesn't have very good paint. I would like to sell it but unsure of a good price. I've seen some sell for 1600, but had decent paint. What's your opinion?
Thanks

Location? Makes a big difference, and you haven't provided yours. So that makes it worth between $350 and $1600.

IMHO - $550 would be a good price. $750 would be pushing it. The baler is at least 58 years old, while it might bale great, the wood plunger slides may be shot. It does not have the longer 3 joint PTO like the 68 and the wheels have bushing instead of bearings.

IMHO - the 68 and 67 are good baler's, up just older and slower.

I was going to start at 700 OBO. It has been updated some point in time to wheel bearings. And the wood slides are new. Mechanically its perfect, it just needs a fresh coat of paint.

DO NOT GO WITH OBO (or best offer). Go with reasonable offer. If you do not get many offers somebody could come up with say an offer of say $10.00 and nobody else had made an offer then they could give you trouble and say that was the best offer so you have to take it. Never go with best offer, you could go with best reasonable offer but that is still chancy. Not much more to say reasonable over best and you might not have to give it away. As I am sure you are not wanting to do that.

Oliver, in your area I would ask $950 and be prepared to go down to $750. Be prepared to demo the baler baling hay to show it is mechanically top flight. The poor paint will scare most away until you show them its purely cosmetic. Wondering how far you are from Holmes/Wayne counties, it would sell in about an hour to the Amish. Advertise it in the Farm & Dairy.

I've got a 275 that I bought 7 years ago for $1000 and have probably spent another $2000 dollars on over the years its in good shape. Probably couldn't get $1000 for it and couldn't replace it with one as good a shape for $2500.

In my area (NE KANSAS) it seems any working baler starts close to the $1000 range. If you can show it working (run a broken bale through it) and it ties its a $1000 - especially a New Holland. I see of brands like Oliver and Ford that bring close that if they are working. 5 years ago I paid $700 for an old IH 47 wire tie and the auctioneer claimed I stole it (I bought it before the old man sent it to a consignment auction). Same sale had a 46 twine tie that was claimed to work (or may not) bring $900.

Ones that have sat outside for a while without being used quickly drop by half or more. Even the ones that don't work (if they are a popular model) will bring $300 to $500 just for the parts.
