NH 269 Baler Problem

Got a 269 NH baler the pick up reel is stuck down on . Has super sweep. I can't see anything obvious holding it down , any suggestions?

some NH balers have a setup to raise of lower pickup with a rope from tractor. I believe on some there is a lever under the cover over the feeder on the rh side, facing the baler. perhaps that is stuck. Ther is also, on some balers, an adjustable lever on the far outside of the baler pickup, over the wheel. you might check there also.

Our 270 has a handle on the right side that has to be pulled in order to change height.

A couple of other things to check, see if the lift spring is still attached. If it is and still stretched then look to see if the bearing on the cross shaft have rusted up. BWT you can view a complete baler break down at "http://www.messicks.com/nh/1156472" just put in the model # 269.

Thanks for the link. It shows a locking pin #15 I will have to have a closer look .

269 has the pick-up height adjusted by the lever on the far side away from the plunger. Some adjustment is also available at the wheel, but that is primarily so it cannot be set to low and keep pick-up from digging in to slight humps and rises in the ground level. gobble
