I thought I should give an update on the grinder mixer that quit mixing. The output shaft was broke right at the auger. New Holland price for shaft is $680.00. But it is no longer available. Tried some salvage yards but haven't found anything yet. Thinking about welding but that would take some expertise.

Just take it apart and have a local machine shop make you a new one. Getting one welded and it holding would be hard to do.

Try Fry Machinery in Pennsyltucky, 570-546-3968. They can be hard to get ahold of at times, but keep trying. They'll likely have one......

Good plan. If you have the assortment of junk that I have,find a piece of shaft off something else and have the keyways machined in to it.

Just weld it up. I forgot which auger you said but it cannot be a high speed shaft so don't need to be perfect.

I will try Fry Machine thanks. Getting a new shaft made is being considered also,but I think that would be as costly as one from New Holland.
