Allis corn planter

Have a Allis no till planter with 60 series units and John Deere plates and adapters what gear combinations will plant @ 24000 population have 14 teeth gear driving 10 teeth gear now any help appreciated

Depends on three things: size of unit drive (press wheel) tire, row spacing and if you are using 16 or 24 cell plates. If you are using 7"x18" tire (most common) 14 tooth drive and 10 tooth driven will give you a population of 17400 using 16 cell plates and 26100 with 24 cell plates on 30" row spacing. To get closer to 24000 you would need an 11 tooth driven sprocket (approx. 23800).

Also if you have the 5 1/2" wide center rib tire, they plant about 10% more so you would need to use a 12 tooth driven sprocket to get close to 24000.

Got the info from an AC manual on the 600 series frame that came with a planter I bought for parts and from the manual that came with the 70 series units on the No-Till planter I bought in the late 70's. Still using some of the 72 units between the Air-Champ units on my narrow row bean planter.
