farmhand grinder mixer

I have a old farm hand grinder mixer. I "thinks" is an F1 or something like that. was thinking about putting a hydraulic motor on the unloading auger as my gears are getting pretty worn and I can't find any replacements. my question is I have no idea how to figure what I need for a hydraulic motor. the unload auger is 5" and 17' long. I grind ear corn mostly.
thanks
Gary

Just my opinion but I would take stock of the entire machine in terms of wear and expected repairs. Good used grinder mixers are there out for several hundred dollars if you do not need one that still has pristine paint on it. A new hydraulic motor plus hoses and tips will be well over a hundred dollars. Last spring was the first time in a long time that I did not need hoses made and I noticed that in the checkbook. Sunlight is heck on tires and hoses and if I could I would build enough storage to keep everything under cover so as not to give the tireshop or dealer a good payday because something is deteriorated from sunlight. Rant over.

Look at another machine to see what motor it has...usually a Char-Lynn. Check the number on the motor. Get one with the right shaft dia to fit inside the auger pipe.

They are typically 1 inch dia motor shaft...either drilled for a pin, or slotted for a square/half moon key.
