Grease leaking out on tedder

Just got a used Hesston/ Agco two spinner tedder. Its got grease leaking out on top of the big metal circle, between that and the gear boxes on each side. Is that a normal thing? Is it Ok as long as I keep greasing it ? Or does it have seals that need replacing? Thanks

I have a Morra doing the same thing. I just grease before usage and don't worry about it. Seems to me like grease running out of a wheel hub, like dolly wheel on shredder to name one, front wheel on riding lawn mower to name two.....just what they do. Seems the trend on lower $$ machines is to use grease rather than having an oil sump requiring seals and all.

If you open it you'll see there is no proper seal in that area on most tedders so if you grease it enough, it will come out there. Some have a dust lip that catches most of the grease.

We give ours a couple of pumps every 50 acres covered more or less.
