I have what I believe to be a David Bradley Model 75 Manure Spreader. What logo or lettering would have been on this spreader?
Thanks,
Craig

Your link goes to my old post. In it you have the wheels are 20", the spreader that had the 20" wheels was a steel sided spreader not wood. The only one with wood was the small one and early ones would have had a wheel for a 6:00x16 tire while the later were for a 6:70x15 tire so it is not a David Bradley. The PTO powered spreaders were also all steel. I have no idea what make yours is but it is not a David Bradley.

Our first manure was a new David Bradley model 75. Here are several pictures of a model 75.

Okay, so don't bet the farm on this, but I think you have either a Model 12 or 14 New Idea spreader from around the mid to late 1940's. I know it wasn't the model 10 because that was a horse drawn. If you find the paint on the under side of the angle frame is green that would be my guess. The wheels were orange and the side boards could have been natural or painted orange as well with green on the angle frame and New Idea lettering in green paint. But as the others say it is not David Bradley.

Jo Bird, That is not a new idea of any of those models. This spreader was designed as a 4 wheel model with the wheels set as far back as they are. The New Idea tractor spreaders were designed with the axle set forward a ways to more equal out the weight of the load. And that is not a new Idea type of toung or jack. And those spreaders the levers are mounted close together on center of front of spreader. I have 2 setting on parts row waiting to get parted out and cut up anouther last year. His spreader is made of the design as that New Idea No 10 is but they never made a tractor hitch from the factory but that could be a farmer designed and built toung. I have been working with those New Idea spreaders with the work I do with the Amish. Have a No 9 New Idea setting here to someday get rebuilt and it has been modified with a tractor toung. And I grew up with a No 9 and ysed for years, for a while Dad had taken the front wheels out from under and put on a tractor toung. And one of the first pieces of machinery I owned was an Avery spreader.

That IS NOT a New Idea Spreader, look for some other make. Possibly a local manufactur of short lines.
