Just picked this up from an old farm next town over. I put it out front of my place for some "yard art."
Any idea who made it? Very sturdy and at one time painted orange. Some markings on the inside hub or gearbox but nothing obvious. It's only antique implement i have-/if anyone knows about it please share, thank you.

I may be wrong but it looks like a Little Genius to me. Wheels can't be original though, the cam wheel being smooth would slide instead of raising the plow.

Thank you gtractorfan, it will give me a place to start as i'm not even familiar with that name. Overall the piece is in pretty good shape--at least one hsnd lever broken off, though. Photo could be better, too.

It's an IHC/McCormick Deering #4 Little Wonder plow. It is not a Little Genius plow.

Hitch parts are missing, the land wheel adjusting lever is busted/gone, the coulters are missing, and the front landside appears to be gone.

Rear wheel was optional, along with various widths of carrying wheels.

Tillage implements were painted with a lower grade of paint than vehicles and tractors were by IH. Some of these plows were made during WWII when alternative pigments were used. Items that faded strangely before faded differently yet with paints used during WWII. Then again, this could have been repainted later.

Not a Little Genius as it carries the tail wheel when out of the ground and the Little Genius road on all three wheels in transport position. And Little Genius is IHC or McCormick.

Very impressive how much you know about this!
Thsnks for all the info, i appreciate it. I assumed
maybe it had a repaint but must have been long ago
as paint is in bad shape and rust will eventually
claim the whole thing if i don't do anything, which i
prob won't. Any idea the age of this thing? Thanks
again, G

Thanks, i have to laugh bec the property owner who
sold it to me felt it was from late 1800s! I knew that
couldn't be right, guess the steel wheels made it
prehistoric in his mind. It was sitting around when
he bought his place, finally decided get rid of it. I
appreciate the info, thanks again.

That plow is in pretty good shape overall. If it were mine I would fix it up and use before I let it rot away.

Older Wonders were the flat, The newer ones had the newer styly beams and were a lot heavier plow like the Genious but keep the garry tail wheel for those that wanted a plow of size and weight of the Genious but did not like the 3rd wheel carry of the Genious.
