Post hole digger brand

Slowroll

New User
Bought used, the auger shaft appears to be a 2" pipe and I'm thinking a tip made to fit inside it should work. As far as what brand it is I don't know it was a reddish orange color. Leinbach?? I need a new point/tip looks like a 1/2"bolt going through it.

I have made auger outside cutting edge as well as the center tip out of old leaf springs. They sell them at Rural King but I am over 20 miles from the store and it is faster when I need one to make it.

hey slowroll, you the airplane guy?? havent seen you post here in quite a while, hope all is well. cant help ya too much on the auger, but i picked one up a while back from a nursery. needed bearings but had a 22 inch auger for planting trees. has a 2 1/2 inch shaft. i made an adapter...pretty well farmerized one and got a 12 inch bit from farm and fleet. i can get the points and cutting edges there. may want to check and see if the ones they have will fit your auger.

I always wanted a post hole digger,
so found this one for $300, Greenline 5000, just bought it. makes you want to just throw your old hand post hole digger away,

one thing I found out quick, you will have new friends that you did not know you had, once they find out you have a PHD, so far neighbors have dug more holes with it than I have,

after it got borrowed about twice, now I just lie and say it's got a bearing going down, so far it has worked, no one wants to be responsible for fixing it, if it breaks.

this one works good, I have used it to dig about 5 holes so far, but it's mine and if I want to dig a hole all I have to do is hook it up,

hanging it up, so it is easy to hook to the tractor is a major concern, these implements are very top heavy and can fall over on you in a minute, so be careful.

I tie the gearbox on mine to a RR tie. Mounting parts go to ground but easier to hook up then when whole thing is flat on the ground

Yes, laying them down makes it a big job to mount, especially alone. We bought this used Bush-Hog last year and I built this rack right away, makes it possible for me to mount it alone.

Glenster I think you are thinking of Sloroll. Sloroll is running a pick your own pumpkin patch on a farm near Grinnell Iowa.

I took the grandkids there this past fall. Lots of stuff for the kids to do.

Sloroll use to run the Grinnell airport and does have a plane.

would want one of these contraptions if they gave it to me. Hydraulic drive and on the front end loader is the only safe way to go.

With full respect for your opinion,

Not anymore dangerous than a chainsaw, most farming tools would be guarded to death if placed in a factory situation,

Guess your dad never told you he needed a cross fence in this pasture, here is the hand post hole digger, go to it boy start digging,
My old tractor digger 5000 would have looked pretty good about that time,

Just saying,
