sickle mower question

I hope there's some responses! I have a 9' #5 missing the mounting bracket, and any ideas would be great to see.

JD had a shaft that bolted on to the right axle with a belt to the rear pto amd a shaft with universals to run the mower on front. Don't know where any are now.......

Over the years I have taken parts and piece of many old sickle bar mowers and made working ones to fit what ever I wanted them to. I have a JD #9 that I took parts and piece of a few other mowers and made work. I also year ago took parts of 2 or 3 sickle bar mowers and made a belly mount mower for a Farmall B and it even had a hyd lift by way of a power steering pump off a Chev pickup

I put a model 50 on a 40W tractor.

It hangs on the tractor using the JD mounting plate which would have been attached to the engine rails of a 4020 or such tractor. Yes, there was some drilling and tapping.

Used the belt pulley and shaft assembly from a model 10 mower to take the rear PTO drive under the axle and then a shaft maybe 30" long to the upper pulley on the mower.
I made an adapter on the model 50 upper pulley to accept the end of the drive shaft.

The hydraulic lift works off a valve cut into the TOM circuit.

It works very well for me to clip pastures and mow fencerows
