John Deere 43 Corn sheller Problems

I recently picked up an old 43 corn sheller that has seen better days but does still work. I shelled a small amount of corn with it a few days ago and had issues with cracked kernels. The manual doesn't have anything as far as troubleshooting goes for that. I had it running slower; I would say about 500 rpm instead of the recommended 750-850, and I just replaced the rubber paddles on the blower. Any ideas?

Did you ever figure this out? I believe I am
having a similar issue and can't get the
corn to shoot out of the shoot. It ends up
grinding the corn and clogging. Thanks

I never did figure it out. I still have a lot of fine corn powder and cracked kernels in my shelling, though the fines have a lot to do with the fact that 2 of the 4 blades for the cleaning fan are missing. For you, there might be a mouse nest in the pipe or you may have the RPM's too low. I had mine plug the pipe up and make a royal mess because I had a little corn in it when I started it up and I had been running it slow, about half throttle on my Deere AR. Let me know if this helps.
