Deere 290 Planter Info Needed

Does anyone have pics they could post of where/how the row closing knife assemblies bolt onto the JD 290 planter? I've never seen one that actually had them. I was going through a box of parts I have for it, and I don't think I have the correct assemblies for a 290...

Don't think they had closing knives. You can download a parts manual at www.jdparts.com

Do you have any owners manuals? It should show in there. Also the parts book unless it has been droped is avaible on line free from John Deeres parts lookup site. For a 490 should be same as 290 but 494-494A and others in that series will be different I think. I have all the books and if needed I could dig till I find them but you should be able to go to the web site and find out what you are wanting to know. They were also avaible for the horse drawn series 919 & 999 and the 450 4 row tractor planter built before the 490. Very few were ever out there tho as in most conditions were not needed. Needed more if disk openers.
