Greetings,

Unfortunately, I have broken the tabs from the front of the hopper support bracket on my buffalo plate planter. does anyone know if NOS parts may be available? Failing that, do you know if buffalo used a mechanism from another manufacturer where NOS or salvage parts would be more available? And if not that does anyone have an idea how to fix it - j b weld etc?

How old of a Buffalo planter are you talking about?? The ones with the square fiberglass boxes used a Kinze Planting unit. So the unit parts would be the same as Kinze.

Also Buffalo Company went through several ownership changes and is now part of Apachee Equipment. They say there are still planter parts available and list a phone number to call.

It is one of the original ones. I do not know the model. I have been googling plate planter units from Deere, IH, Allison, dumpster etc thinking that it would have been cheaper for buffalo to outsource. From what I can find it sure looks like the picture for Allis 78 or 79 row units.

I spoke with apache this afternoon and they were helpful and am looking forward to more information from them.

Thank you for your support

arly Buffalo planters used Allis Chalmers units

Pete SD is right. Our old Buffalo planter was a plate and we had gotten boxes off an AC to replace the poly boxes ours had. Our used boxes came off of a 333 and a 78 AC planter if memory serves me correctly.

I bought one of their cultivators very used and phoned the head office for advise about freeing up the parrallel linkages. They seemed to be the sort of folks that would take the time to try to help the users of their products if they could.

My neighbor has one and he gets excellent service from Buffalo. 8)
