MF model 43 two bottom plow

I would bet the latch is stuck and not working correctly. SO once you tripped it, now it is not locking.

You need to take it apart and clean out all the dirt and rust and put back together. And while you are doing that check parts to make sure they are not broken in any way. I had a MF 4 bottom semi mount and it had been drilled for a shear bolt as the top corner of the beam that was supposed to connect with the latch part had been broken off on all the beams. If you are luckey it will just be dirt and you may be able to pick as much out as you can while washing it out with a pennetrating oil. Not likely tho.

I do not remember but likely. You need to find a parts book to know what there is in there as it could be dangerous.

Yes, dis-mantle and clean it out good. check for failed springs and grease as you re-assemble..

Last resort, Weld the release so it will not release.. not usually and problem if you are not grossly over-powering the plow..

another guy had the same problem with his MF43 plow, when it hit the ground one of the plows tripped and would not reset, he had been plowing and hit roots,

(trip was a great option, but like a slip clutch on a bush hog or hay baler, it much be maintenance and cleaned from time to time to work properly,
