Black Friday shopping

OK, i gave in to doing some shopping on black Friday. Drove 400 miles one way up thru Eastern Oklahoma, and what a beautiful drive.

I came home with a IH 449A 4 row planter its in great shape with two of the seed hoppers full of matching plates: corn, milo and beans and others.

Needs some cleaning up and a new tire. other than that, its ready for spring planting. gonna put it behind my 460 and M Farmall.

OK, so its old school; however, I don't need a computer and a set of metric wrenches to work on it. Oh, by-the-way, all of my Farmalls are old school too!

I'm betting that wasn't at Wally World or Target! Nice find. Don't know anything about corn planters (nobody grows grain corn in western Washington, as it would never dry down)- can you move the planter units to match up with your combine header spacing?

Nothing wrong with "old school"!
Wife and I laughed that even we did some Black Friday shopping- if not a little unconventional... bought a brand new cattle chute/headgate! Getting a bit too gray to keep trying to get by squeezing these things between the gate and a wall, know my vet will appreciate it as well.

not sure yet. my 249 planter is adjustable so the 449 should be too. i ordered ab operators manual today. when it comes in i'll let you know.

right now i'm just cleaning it up. 60 or so years of dirt and grease have built up. here is a photo of the build up.
