Help!!! I need some help in identifying what old shredder / brushhog I inherited from my Grandmothers farm. I can't find any ID numbers on
it. It does have a gearbox with WARNER, AUBURN, IND on it and some other numbers on the PTO shaft. It has a 6 ft deck, and no 3-point
attachment.

Wondering what brand of tractors he had around the farm. A lot of times the guys would buy the same brand of equipment as their tractors. might give a clew.

Smokey,

I think you are absolutely right. I've never before heard of a company named Stanhoist, but I googled it and found pictures of a full range of tractor accessories including multiple photos of their stalk chopper / rotary mower.

Thanks for the ID - very interesting.

Yup, I have one also. Its a Bush Hog. Mine has solid tires like on the ends of some mounted brush cutters. That one might have been used by a B Farmall which I also have, 1940, but I cut some pasture that I had to 1/2 lap it with a 34 CC Case, and it barely curt it down.
Don't fill the gear box up to the top. Fill it till it covers the gears, UNLESS it already leaks, THEN, drill a tiny air hole in the plug and fill it up.
