I have a 72" Woods finish mower that I have not used for several years, maybe 10! Pulled it out of the grass. It seems to be set up tight. I can not get any movement by hand from the drive shaft. I suspect it will need some new bearings? and whatever? belt looks like new. Not sure where to start on freeing it up or taking it apart. Also, what parts are available and where? universal bearings or Woods specific?

Take the belt loose from the gearbox and see if the gearbox is free. If so the blade spindles are froze up. Woods will have what you need.

I just reworked one for my neighbor,

It had not ran in approximately the same amount of time, belt looked like a raccoon had been chewing on it,

If it were me I would hook it to the tractor , lift it up, place jack stands under it as you do not want it falling on you,

Then I would take a rubber hammer and tap each of the blades, probably one spindle bearing is rusted up or stuck, work it back and forth, if you can move all bearings then grease all bearings good

Take it out, use it 10-15 minutes check the temperature of the spindle keep greasing it,
There is a good chance you will not have to replace the bearings,

One spindle on the one I fixed made a noise, but the more I use it and the more it was greased it kept getting quieter,

Whatever you have to do, do not let this thing fall on you,
